i want to set up a green tree frog cage but what do i need and i dont care wat type of green tree frog
Ok well… fist you will need to get a tank. get one that is about 2 feet long, and 1 1/2 feet high. Once you have got it, you will need to set it up. Use a divider, or make your own by using a large plastic container, wash it first. Now fill the container with water, and place in the tank pushed to the side. On the other side, place dirt or fish gravel rocks. This will provide a water/land environment, and will keep the container in place. If you have a garden, dig up the dirt from the garden, and leave the grass on top, frogs will love this. make sure that the grass has not been sprayed etc.
Now get some plants from the pet store ONLY. You can use water plants and put them into the water section, secure down with some rocks, you can use land plants (ask staff if you are unsure of what to use) and then make a little hole in the dirt grass, and put the plant in. get some medium sized rocks and wash them Then put them into your tank on the grass section. Also, you can use some twigs or sticks, just make sure there are no bugs on them or spiders etc. wash as well.
You can make a frog food catcher by getting a small plastic container, cutting a hole in the lid (About a one inch circle) and then place outside with some rotten fruit in it. fruit flies and other insects will fly inside. leave overnight, then collect the container and place inside the frogs tank. he will eat these when they fly out. Get some thin chicken wire or mesh that will give air to the frog, but will not let the bugs out. Put this over the top of your tank. Hope this helps.

Well, first you have to figure out what type of green tree frog. Each species has its own needs.
Basically, you need a vertically oriented cage. A 10 gallon could work, but a 15 tall would be better.
With frogs, you need high humidty and moist conditions. They do well on substrates of compressed coconut fiber and having live or fake plants to hide on and under. They need a pool of water and all water used for frogs must be dechlorinated

You need at least a ten gallon Terrarium…i suggest getting one made by Hagan Exo terra. They are the better kind. You need a good type of soft soil made for reptiles bought at a pet store. A large bowl for water to drink and soak in. Something along the lines of a clamp lamp with at least a 75wat light. A temp and humidity gauge to make sure your ok with heat and humidity. And you also want to get vines and bark from a pet store to give your frog something to climb on and hide in. DO NOT use heat pads or rocks…They are just bad news.

hi there
Common Name: Green Tree Frog
Latin name: Hylidae cinerea
Native to: Southeastern United States
Size: 1½ to 2 inches
Life span: 2 – 5 years
General appearance: Small bright green frog with a white stripe along each side. May have golden spots on head and body.
Housing requirements:
Enclosure: Minimum 10-gallon tank (taller rather than longer). Glass aquariums work the best. Foliage is a must. Sticks, branches and driftwood provide climbing room. Arrange branches where foliage provides hiding places.
Temperature: 72° to 75° F is desirable.
Heat/Light: Green tree frogs are nocturnal so no special lighting is needed, except for viewing purposes. If desired, you may use an under tank heating pad with a rock situated over the heat source. Or a 15-watt nocturnal heat lamp may be used.
Substrate: Potting soil, astroturf or reptile carpeting may be used. Avoid Reptibark due to danger of ingestion.
Environment: Semi-tropical. Mist daily with dechlorinated water. A small water dish should also be constantly available
Diet: Green tree frogs are insectivores and will eat anything they can fit in their mouths. Dust crickets with calcium & vitamins 3 times a week. Feed frogs daily.
Maintenance: Remove everything from tank weekly and clean thoroughly with hot water (no soap). Tank should be thoroughly scrubbed.
hope this helps it's off our website…

PS- Don't make it a deep water dish or it will drown.
Mine has: a 10 H tank, water dish, plants, branches, cage carpet (I don't trust that other stuff with parasites, impactions…etc) and a few rocks spaced a little bit away from the sides of the tank (they like to be enclosed every once in a while), 25 watt night light, screen top, and some crickets waiting to be devoured! I only have one green tree frog in there, though. Can't wait to get her a friend for Christmas. 🙂 Good luck!
