Can you successfully capture and maintain health of a yellow spotted salamander? If possible, are pet store supplied insects and worms okay for feeding?
wax worms and crickets are a good fod for them.make thier new home as natural as possible and there should be no problem.

We fed our earthworms – about 10 a week. If they're hungry they'll eat. We kept them in a habitat of sand with a pond and some plants.

I personally do not advocate capture of wild animals as pets, they typically don't live long in captivity and there are dangers of parasites and diseases that could shorten the life span additionally of what ever you catch. If you have other reptile pets, this could be a danger to them as well. I suggest you go to a pet store. Some of those are sadly wild caught as well, but have been handled more than what you are after. Good luck to you.

if you do keep a wild animail remember what its natrual instincts are. it can still bite. make sure its cage or whatever is as natrule as possible.
